Precious Moments

• 1982 - Major Lingo Formed in Jerome, Arizona by current members Tony Bruno (slide) and John Ziegler (vocals, guitar), with Teddy Rocha (bass) and Dave Rentz (drums)
• 1985 - Major Lingo, with John, Tony, and new members Sally Stricker (vocals) and Tim "Herb" Alexander (drums) self-release the full-length cassettes: "Major Lingo" and "Beat For Heads and Feet".
• 1987 - Major Lingo releases full-length cassette "Ride". Later, Sally Stricker is replaced by Linda Cushma on bass and vocals.
• 1989 - Major Lingo moves to San Francisco Bay area for a number of months. Stricker rejoins the band and appears on the live cassette release "Wild Blue Yonder". When band moves back to Arizona, Tim Alexander stays in Bay area and joins Primus.
• 1990-92 - Returning to Arizona, the band adds Steve Botterweg on drums, Christine Thomas on vocals, and Doug Williams and then Darryl Icard on bass.
• 1993 - With Stricker returning for her third stint in the band, Lingo releases "All Through My Body" CD.
• 1995 - After the band takes a short hiatus to write new material, Icard leaves and is replaced on bass by Sally Stricker. This lineup has continued unchanged up to the present.
• 1998-2001 - Slide player extraordinaire Tony Bruno records three solo efforts, "Flinch", "Numbat", and "The Shanghai Chicken Thief". John Ziegler records "One on One" with Dave Rentz.
• 2000 - Lingo releases long-awaited CD "Pagan Moon" which was recorded in drummer Botterweg's new studio, as were "Shanghai Chicken Thief" and "One on One".
• 2002 - Major Lingo celebrates their 20th Anniversary with a Spook Hall (Jerome) show which features many past members. Concurrently, they release "Lost and Found", a collection of rarities and gems.
• 2003 - May: Major Lingo packs the house at the Bit and Spur just outside Zion, Utah.
• 2004 - In February,Lingo plays at Ralo's* "One Love" festival in Jerome along with the Withdrawals, the Overtones, Blackfire, and others. In April, Lingo plays at the inaugural McDowell Mountain Music Festival, which features David Crosby and CPR, Little Feat, Los Lobos, Delbert McClinton, BR5-49, Keb Mo', Taj Mahal, Donna the Buffalo, and more. In May, Lingo puts on the Jerome Music Fest 2004, featuring Lingo, the Overtones, and Each Other's Legend, and many others.
• 2005 - 2006 - Major Lingo continues to tour the Arizona Highway's playing at their favorite pubs and Music Festivals.
• 2007 - Major Lingo celebrates 25 Years with another Spook Hall performance featuring all alumni; also releases a live cd titled "Arizona Highway Band" featuring 10 new tracks.
